Yet Another Flower Festival

We happened to visit another flower festival, this time at NOIDA stadium. It was nowhere near as wonderful as the one at Garden of Five Senses, but still ..... flowers are always beautiful!

At the entry point of the area marked for the flower show, these animals welcomed us. They were nice, even though a little funny :)

Elephant with a garland

A bull (the eyes are blue flowers, not color)

The cutest one - the Giraffe

I love dahlias - so colorful and so big

And pansies - specially the white ones

The hustle and bustle

Hmmm lovely and cute flower animals. I too love dahlias for their vibrant colours and size. :)

Never been to garden of five senses though.

Is it still cold in daytime ? I can see some people wearing sweaters.

How I love flowers and thanks for sharing the pictures but I wonder why I am never able to make it to a flower show!

@Cuckoo: :-))
Hmmm ... do you visit Delhi often? I would recommend going to the Garden of 5 senses - but only during winter/spring - a definite "no" in summers.
Well, it is not so cold now a days - the evenings are slightly cold - so one may or may not take a sweater. But it was much colder when these photos were taken, about three weeks back.

@Mridula: I love flowers too - of all kinds. Sorry you couldnt make it - but do try to go to the Garden of 5 senses during the next Garden Tourism festival next time - it is held in Feb, and there are ads in the papers - it is an exhilirating experience.

I loved the flower animals. Though my ever fav photo ( which inspired me a lot that I took shots on my own...) was close ups of Dahlia from your Garden of 5 senses post !! Those shots were amazing..!!

I am glad to see some hulchal happening on this blog as well.

I love the pictures of the dahlias and pansies. But I guess I am not such a big fan of flowers forming other shapes (elephants etc.) - they are so beautiful just by themself.

@BTR: Thanks!! That one is my most favorite one too ... my first preference for the contest i mentioned on the other blog. I have some more posts-in-waiting - I went to Agra last month - saw Taj and Agra fort, but right now I dont have a s/w to compress photos. And some of my Goa posts are pending because I have by now forgotten the names of the places we visited :-)

@pooja: I agree that flowers in their natural form and shape look much better ... as I said the animals did look rather funny :-)

@Gil: Thank you! Do keep visiting. :-)

@BTR: I will post the Agra pics soon ....
I am planning to watch 'The Namesake' (though not Namaste London) :-) Will definitely let you know my impressions :-)

@VJ: After a long time! Good to see you back. Well, it would have been a nice experience if you could visit it, but as I said in the post, it does not compare with the one at 'Garden of 5 senses'.

Hey, Can't you just stretch/skew the pictures in MS Paint ? You can compress them using that. Or am I totally missing the point ?

Sigma said...

@Pooja: No, you haven't missed the point :-) It has to do with my laziness. :-))
I havent used MS paint, but I have a few other s/w which allow little manipuilation of images, including compression. The problem is that they allow you to edit one pic at a time - MS Picture Manager allows you to change multiple pictures simultaneously, and by default offers 4 compression sizes. But my Picture Manager license (2007 beta) expired, and it does not come with 97.
